I have used memorization techniques for decades. I originally learned the techniques to do better on exams in college. As time passed, I used the techniques in a variety of different ways. One particular technique became a way by which I memorized scripture.

A pastor in Oklahoma City knew of my practice of scripture memorization and asked if I would provide some video instruction for his congregants as part of a series on Spiritual Disciplines. This video is Part 1 of a 3-part series on scripture memorization. It is a brief introduction (about 10 minutes) to the nature of scripture memorization, and the four principles I use in the practice of spiritual disciplines.
